44話はロッキーホラーショーの曲ばかりのようですが、個人的にはよく知らず46話の挿入歌の方が馴染みの曲が多い。ドアーズのRiders On The Stormはジム・モリソンが参加した最後のアルバムに収録されています。ドラマチックな曲でホラーかサスペンス映画に使われそうなイメージです。このころのジム・モリソンは激太りしてかつての面影はありませんでしたが、声だけは変わっていませんでした。

42話のタイトルになっているStrange Fruitは曲のタイトルでもあります。ビリー・ホリデイで有名ですがドラマではニーナ・シモンのバージョンです。直訳すると奇妙な果実という意味になりますが、これは首吊り死体のことを表現している言葉です。差別によって殺された黒人が木にぶら下がっている姿のことで、ドラマでも同じようなシーンがあります。

この意味をはじめて知ったときはショックでしたが、当時のアメリカ南部ではこうしたことが日常茶飯事だったのかもしれません。
